ABOUT
The Clotheslines Fashion Archive is an open-access platform devoted to dress and fashion, bringing together garments, textiles, and related materials in a shared space of study and discovery.
Its inaugural collection, Contemporary Greek Fashion in Detail, launched in February 2025 and drew from the private archives of twelve designers, design teams, and artistic collectives based in Greece: 240791ek, 2WO+1NE=2, Angelos Bratis, Angelos Tsakiris, Blanc, Digitaria, Ioanna Kourbela, Maison Faliakos, MEUF, Serapis, Sophie Deloudi, and Yiorgos Eleftheriades.
In March 2026, the archive expanded to include material from ten additional designers and design teams: Adonis, Apostolos Mitropoulos, Deux Hommes, Dimitris Petrou, Maggina, Markellos Polydorou, Parthenis, Sotiris Georgiou, Stelios Koudounaris, and Unsung Weavers.
Each designer is represented through a selected garment or accessory, documented with technical drawings, sketches, photographs, patterns, and other supporting materials. By placing fashion objects alongside the documents that accompany them, the archive invites attention not only to the finished piece, but also to the processes, gestures, and decisions through which it takes form. Organised into individual collections, the archive allows for both close study of each practice and broader exploration through keywords, object type, and other filters.
Through high-resolution imagery and downloadable resources, the archive serves as a research tool, an educational resource, and an evolving record of contemporary fashion in Greece. Additional supporting material, including designer biographies, will be added to the archive.
